Sculptural Mask Making - with Maria Moorhouse - £220

A magical weekend with the wonderful Maria Moorhouse in which you will….

  • Learn to create a sculptural mask

  • Develop modelling techniques

  • Enhance our creative ideas

  • Explore and research different styles of sculpting

  • Learn to observe facial features and proportions

  • Understand the process of preparing the sculpture for drying and firing

And of course plenty of hot drinks, cake and organic vegetarian lunch. 

All materials included. Firing is provided at an additoinal fee of £3.50 per kg of fired weight.

Maria Moorhouse is a Traditional Craft tutor and sculptor.  She is a trained stone carver and offers courses from studio 40 at Dartington and has taught for adult learning for many years.

Maria went to art college in Canterbury in Kent to gain her honours degree in fine art in 1992 and after in 1995 trained at Weymouth college studying Architectural Stone Carving and Masonry Skills and part of the course was a diploma in letters cutting. She then studied in 1999 to gain her teaching certificates to be able to teach and train adults.
